How Much Does SEO Cost for Roofing Companies in 2026?

By Francis Marc UyOctober 8, 20267 min read

Quick answer: Most SEO providers charge somewhere between $500 and $2,000 a month, and a roofing SEO company doing real local work for a single location usually sits in the middle or upper part of that range. Roofing quotes tend to run higher than a basic package because of wide service areas, material and storm pages, and project proof. The better test is not the price but whether the work could plausibly pay for itself in a few extra roofs a year.

SEO quotes for roofers are hard to compare: one roofing SEO company wants $600 a month, another wants $2,500 plus setup, and a third will only charge you per lead. They are rarely selling the same thing.

This post covers how much SEO costs in 2026, the ways providers charge, what pushes a roofing quote up, and how to check whether any price makes sense for your business. I publish my own prices, and I will get to them at the end. If you are new to the work itself, my guide to local SEO for roofing companies explains what it involves.

How Much Does SEO Cost in 2026?

The most useful recent benchmark I know of is SE Ranking’s survey of 260 agencies, most of them serving small or local businesses. About 64% charge less than $1,000 a month for a retainer, and 30% charge less than $500. In the US and Canada, 22% of the agencies surveyed charge more than $2,000 a month. Bigger shops price higher: over 70% of agencies with 25 or more employees charge retainers above $1,000.

That survey covers SEO in general, not roofing, so treat it as a frame rather than a quote. Under $500 a month usually buys light profile upkeep and a report. Real local SEO for a roofer, with pages, listings, profile work and tracking across a wide area, tends to land between roughly $1,000 and $2,000 a month for one location, assuming a moderately competitive market. A crowded metro or several locations push that higher.

Four Ways a Roofing SEO Company Can Charge You

The monthly retainer is the most common model. You pay a fixed amount for a defined list of work each month, usually after a short minimum term. It is predictable, and it only works if the provider tells you exactly what that list is. A one-time project fee is the second model, used for a website rebuild, a profile overhaul or an audit. It suits a single fix, not ongoing visibility.

Pay-per-lead is the third. Some providers build sites or pages for your area and sell you the calls they generate. It can fill gaps, but you are renting visibility you do not own, and the cost never steps down as your own presence grows. The fourth is pay-for-performance, where you pay only when you rank for agreed keywords. It sounds safe, but the agreed keywords are often long phrases almost nobody searches, so you pay for rankings that bring no roofs.

For most roofers who want a channel they own, a retainer with a clear deliverables list is the cleanest model. Whatever you choose, make sure your Google Business Profile, domain and website stay in your name.

What Pushes a Roofing SEO Quote Up

Service area is the first driver. A roofer who works a 15-mile radius needs far less work than one who covers three counties and follows storms beyond them. Each town that matters needs evidence: project pages, photos and reviews tied to that area, and someone has to produce them.

Content is the second. Roofing buyers research a lot, so a serious site needs pages for repair, replacement, storm damage, inspections and each material you install, plus clear, careful pages about the insurance process that you review before they go live. That is more writing than most trades need. Multiple locations, years of messy listings from old shops or phone numbers, and a competitive metro market all add hours on top.

When you compare two quotes, line those drivers up. A cheap quote that skips content is not cheaper per result.

Do the Math in Roofs, Not Months

Here is a simple way to sanity-check any price. Take your average gross profit on a replacement, using your own numbers. Purely as an illustration, say it is $4,000 and you are considering a $1,500 monthly plan, which is $18,000 a year. Roughly four or five extra replacements a year from organic search would cover it. Repairs and inspections that turn into replacements later add to that, but they take longer to show up.

Run that math over a full year, not a single month. Roofing demand swings hard with the seasons and the weather, so judging SEO on one quiet month or one storm month will mislead you either way. If the break-even number looks impossible for your market, a smaller plan or a one-time fix may be the honest answer.

This math describes what the work would need to produce, not what it will produce. That depends on your market and how well your office books the calls.

Questions to Ask a Roofing SEO Company Before You Sign

Google’s guide to hiring an SEO suggests asking what results a provider expects and in what timeframe, how they measure success, what experience they have in your industry and your area, and whether they will share every change they make to your site. It also says plainly that no one can promise a number one ranking on Google, so treat any quote that does as a warning sign.

For roofers, I would add three more. What is the plan for storm season, and when does that content get built? Who writes the insurance and warranty pages, and will you review them before they publish? If I leave, do I keep the pages, photos and profile you built? A provider who answers those clearly has probably thought about roofing before.

What I Charge Roofing Companies

My plans are published, so you can hold them against everything above. Basic is $1,099 a month, Advanced $1,499 and Premium $1,999. Each includes Google Business Profile management for one location and the full local SEO and AI search build. The tiers differ mainly in volume: blog posts, profile posts, citations and tracked keywords.

Plans run a 3-month minimum, then month to month. Extra locations are $350 to set up plus $300 a month each. My first five clients get 30% off their first three months in exchange for permission to share their results as a case study. If a full plan is more than you need, profile-only management is $300 a month, and a one-time local SEO audit is $400. Full details are on the pricing page, and the roofing approach is on my roofing SEO page.

Roofing SEO Cost: FAQ

Is pay-for-performance SEO a good deal for roofers?

Sometimes, but read the keyword list first. Many of these deals pay out on long, low-volume phrases that are easy to rank for and rarely bring a call. If the agreed keywords aren’t the ones homeowners in your area actually search, you are paying for a report, not roofs.

Should I pay more for SEO during storm season?

Usually not. The work that helps most during a storm, like storm damage pages and reviews, has to exist beforehand, so a steady monthly budget tends to do more than a burst of spending after the weather hits.

Is a freelancer cheaper than a roofing SEO company?

Often, yes, and a good one can be excellent value for a single-location roofer. Check for a written list of monthly work and that your profile and website stay in your name.

Does a roofing SEO company need to be in my state?

No, but it needs to understand your market, your service area and how roofing is bought there. I’m based in the Philippines and work US business hours, which I disclose up front, so you can decide whether that suits you.
