Local SEO Services for Home Service Contractors

Local SEO helps your business show up when people nearby search for what you do: on Google Maps, in regular search results and increasingly in AI answers. My plans combine Google Business Profile management, website fixes, business listings, AEO and GEO into one monthly service, built for HVAC, plumbing and roofing companies.

What local SEO actually is

Local SEO is the work of making Google, and the AI tools built on top of it, confident about three things: what your business does, where you do it and whether people trust you. When those signals are clear and consistent, you’re more likely to appear in the map results and local listings that drive calls.

For a home service business, that comes down to five areas. My plans cover all five.

Your Google Business Profile

The listing that appears on Google Maps, with your categories, services, hours and photos.

How I handle profiles →

Your website

The pages that explain your services and service area clearly enough for Google to match them to searches.

Your business listings

Your name, address and phone number, consistent across the directories that matter.

Your reviews

How many, how recent, and how you respond to them.

Your AI visibility

Whether AI tools can find accurate, consistent information about you when someone asks for a contractor.

How AI visibility works →

What’s included in every plan

Month 1 starts with an audit of your Google Business Profile, website, listings, reviews and top local competitors, then a clear plan for the first three months: what we’ll fix first, what we’ll build and why. After that, every plan runs on the same seven workstreams.

Google Business Profile

  • Primary and secondary categories reviewed and corrected
  • Services, service areas, description and attributes completed
  • Photos uploaded every month
  • Regular profile posts
  • Q&A monitoring and review replies

Website fixes that help you get found

  • Technical fixes that affect how Google crawls and understands your site
  • Titles, meta descriptions and headings written for real searches
  • Internal links between services and service-area content
  • Service pages improved every month

Business listings (citations)

  • Name, address and phone number made consistent across the listings that matter
  • New citations every month on trusted directories and home service platforms

Answer Engine Optimization

  • Answer-first sections and FAQs built around questions customers actually ask
  • Schema markup for your business, services and FAQs
How answer engine optimization works →

Generative Engine Optimization

  • Consistent business information everywhere AI tools look
  • Brand mentions on trusted platforms and home service directories
  • Regular checks on whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews mention you

Content and reporting

  • Blog posts written for your trade and service area, reviewed by me before publishing
  • Rank tracking for your target keywords
  • Map ranking grid scans across your service area
  • A monthly report in plain English: what was done, what changed, what’s next

How local SEO works, month by month

Month 1: fix the foundation

Audit, 90-day plan, Google Business Profile optimization, the most important website fixes and a cleanup of inaccurate listings. This month does the most to remove whatever is currently holding you back.

Months 2–3: build

Monthly service page improvements, new citations, blog and profile posts, AEO content and brand mentions. By the end of month 3, you’ll have a clear before-and-after view of your profile, your listings and your rankings.

Month 4 onward: grow and adjust

The work continues each month, guided by what the data shows. After month 3, plans continue month to month.

Results depend on your market, your competition and your starting point. I’ll give you a realistic picture in your free audit rather than a promise.

How I measure progress

I report on the numbers that connect to calls and booked jobs, not just rankings.

  • Google Business Profile actions: calls, website clicks and direction requests
  • Map rankings across your service area: grid scans show where you appear, block by block
  • Keyword rankings for the services and areas you care about
  • Website leads: form submissions and calls, where tracking is in place
  • AI visibility: whether AI tools mention you when asked about your services

What lands in your inbox

One report a month, written in plain English, covering what was done, what changed and what’s next. No jargon dump, no 40-page PDF nobody reads.

What I’ll need from you

Local SEO works best as a partnership. To get started, I’ll ask for four things.

Access

Manager access to your Google Business Profile, plus your website and analytics. The accounts stay in your name.

Photos

Real photos of your team, trucks and completed jobs. Phone photos are fine.

Your service list

The services you want more of, and the areas you actually serve.

Quick approvals

Timely sign-off on content and profile changes, so the work keeps moving.

Built for your trade

Every trade has its own search patterns: seasonal spikes, emergency calls and high-ticket research. See how local SEO works for yours.

SEO for HVAC companies

Cooling pages before summer, heating before the first cold week, maintenance in between.

Local SEO FAQ

What is local SEO?

Local SEO is the work of making Google, and the AI tools built on top of it, confident about three things: what your business does, where you do it and whether people trust you. For a home service business, that means your Google Business Profile, your website, your business listings and your reviews all sending the same clear signal, so you show up in the map results and local listings that drive calls.

What’s the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?

Regular SEO aims to rank a website for searches anywhere. Local SEO focuses on searches with local intent, like “AC repair near me” or “roofer in Phoenix,” where Google shows map results and nearby businesses. For home service companies, local SEO is where most calls come from.

Do I need a website for local SEO?

It helps a lot. Your Google Business Profile can bring calls on its own, but a website gives Google more information about your services and gives customers a reason to choose you. If your website needs work, I’ll include the fixes in your plan.

I serve customers at their homes and don’t have a storefront. Does local SEO still work?

Yes. Most HVAC, plumbing and roofing businesses are service-area businesses. Your Google Business Profile can list the areas you serve without showing a home address, and your website can explain your service area clearly.

How long before I see results?

Some fixes, like correcting your profile categories or listing errors, can help fairly quickly. Bigger gains usually build over several months, depending on your competition. That’s why plans have a three-month minimum.

Can you work on more than one location?

Yes. Each plan covers one Google Business Profile. Additional locations are $350 to set up plus $300 per month each.

Do you guarantee I’ll be in the top 3 on Google Maps?

No. Nobody outside Google can promise a position. I guarantee the work: every deliverable in your plan, done each month and reported clearly.

See what’s holding your business back

Send me your website and business name. Within 3 business days, I’ll prepare an audit of where you stand on Google Maps, search and AI answers, then walk you through it on a call, including what I’d fix first.
